Goraksh Lake is located in Hetauda-18, approximately 18 km east of Hetauda Bazaar along the main road leading to Chatara; initially, water used to flow through a small stream here, but in 2003 (2060 V.S.), under the initiation of local resident Ram Prasad Parajuli, the District Development Committee constructed a dam to irrigate the Harna plains, collecting wastewater to form this beautiful pond. In 2013 (2070 V.S.), with the objective of developing the area for tourism, the 'Goraksh Lake Conservation Committee' was formed under the chairmanship of Kiran Thapa, which aims to operate boating services and build temples dedicated to various deities, seeking advice and cooperation from well-wishers to establish it as a religious tourism site. The lake covers an area of 4 Bighas with an estimated depth of 11 feet, and a pedestrian walkway has been constructed around it where walking offers a joyful experience filled with wild flowers and the chirping of birds. Visitors can reach the lake by bus.
