Description

The Boudha Doychhen Choiling Gumba is located in Kamal danda, Ward No. 4 of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City. It is situated at a distance of 1.3 km south of Hetauda Bazaar and can be reached via Mayuri (electric rickshaws) and tempos. To build this monastery, Thing Lama donated land with an area of around 00-05-15, leading to its initial foundation in the year 2022 BS. Since 2056 BS, through the dedicated efforts of the chief guru, Jagat Prakash Guru Tulku Lama Chhulthim Dorje, and with financial aid from the District Development Committee (DDC) Makwanpur, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City, various organizations, and devotees, the construction was completed in 2059 BS at a total cost of around 30 million rupees (3 crores). Similarly, the stupa here was constructed in 2069 BS, and the Mane Khorlo (prayer wheels) was built in 2070 BS by collecting funds through the support of devotees. Currently, this site is recognized as a popular tourist destination for followers of Buddhism. With the support of various donors, 15 students are presently receiving free Lama education here. Every year, a grand fair is organized here on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti. Additionally, various rituals are conducted throughout the year, including the chanting of 10 Vajra Guru mantras in Shrawan, Nyungne fasting during Dashain, Vajrakilaya Puja during Magh Lhosar, recitation of 16 volumes of Prajnaparamita in Falgun, and the World Peace Home (Havan) and recitations. Along with these, monthly worship services are conducted according to the lunar calendar, regular daily prayers are held, and special monthly pujas are performed on all 12 full moon nights (Purnima) of the year. This attractive monastery is one of the closest gumbas to the main road.
