Shree Rudreshwor Mahadev Temple is located in Hetauda-5, approximately 2 km east of Hetauda Bazaar between Sita Nagar and Rudreshwor Tol. Around 1994 (2051 V.S.), local devotees Januka Neupane, Keshav Prasad Neupane, and Dilmaya Gautam proposed expanding the small existing shrine. Under the chairmanship of Bharat Dulal, and with a 20,000 NPR grant from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City plus community forest funds, the temple, a rest house, and a public shelter were built. Subsequent support from the DDC and municipality added bathrooms, water tanks, a main gate, and railings. In 2015 (2072 V.S.), a Mahalaxmi Yagya raised 300,000 NPR, and donor Rajesh Baniya contributed 1 million NPR for the Santaneswor Mahadev temple. Contributions from the Ministry of Culture, parliamentarians, and locals funded statues of Ganesh and Shiva, a Yagya stage, Saptarishi idols, a Radhakrishna temple, a senior citizen day-care center, and shrines for Vindhyabasini and Shani. Known for its peaceful environment and healthy climate, this religious tourism site is accessible by Mayuri (auto-rickshaws) and offers local tea and snack shops.
