Bhubaneshwor Mahadev Temple

Description

The Bhubaneshwor Mahadev Temple (Hupra Chaur) is located in Hetauda-4, at a distance of about 1.5 km south of Buddha Chowk in Hetauda Bazaar, near the southern edge of Hupra Chaur. With the objective of expanding settlements and managing residency in this city in a structured manner, construction of this temple in an artistic style began in 2041 BS under the leadership of sculptor Bhuvan Raj Bajracharya from Lalitpur, so that local residents would not have to travel all the way to Kathmandu to visit Pashupatinath; the consecration (Prana Pratishtha) of the Shiva temple and the installation of the deity took place on Marga 19, 2042 BS. The total land area of the temple is 0-10-07 Dhur. The construction was completed under the chairmanship of the then Zonal Commissioner, Mr. Lakshya Bahadur Gurung, and the coordination of Hetauda Municipality Pradhan Pancha, Mr. Nirshankar Shrestha, who also served as the secretary. Special worship rituals take place here throughout the entire month of Shrawan. Not only that, crowds of devotees gather every Saturday, Tuesday, and during other special religious dates. Furthermore, massive crowds of local devotees gather during annual fairs and festivals such as Thulo Ekadashi, Shivaratri, and Satbij Chharne Aunsi. Currently, the temple is managed and operated by the Bhubaneshwor Temple Service Committee.
