The Gorakheshwor Panchayan Temple is located in Rapti, Pahareghat, Hetauda-10, approximately 800 meters west of Hetauda Buddhachowk on the banks of the Rapti River along the East-West Highway. This secure location has been utilized for cremation rituals since December 15, 1934 (1 Poush 1991 V.S.), and currently features three cremation spots and a mourning house built by the Hetauda Municipality, all managed under the Gorakheshwor Development Committee, where religious rituals like Shrimad Bhagavat, Maharudri, and Kotihom Yajna are regularly organized. Adhering to the tradition of worshiping Lord Shiva from birth until death, a Shivalinga was consecrated here on November 20, 1978 (5 Mangsir 2035 V.S.), and to accommodate distant pilgrims, a joint initiative by the late Chandi Prasad, Radhakrishna Gorkhali, and Pandit Tankanath Parajuli led to the construction of a rest house (Dharmashala) starting in February 1979 (Falgun 2035 V.S.). To manage and complete this rest house, a five-year Mahayajna was initiated in 2003 (2060 V.S.) under the leadership of religious figure Ajay Raj Sumargi and with the participation of Muktinath Pithadhish Swami Kamalnayanacharya, while various devotees established temples dedicated to Vaishno Devi, Hanuman, Lakshmi Narayan, Saraswati, and Shri Ganesh between 1993 and 2003 (2050–2060 V.S.). Additionally, a Sanskrit Veda School has been running here since 2003 under the guidance of Premnath Parajuli, and a 52-foot-tall statue of Lord Hanuman is being constructed under the leadership of Mahendranath Adhikari, Chairman of the Shri Rambhakta Hanuman Seva Samiti. The premises also house a full-sized statue of Yogi Naraharinath, a Bhajan Ghar for the devotional musical group, and the office of the Shri BhutanDevi Community Forest Group.
