Shahid Smarak, also known as Martyrs' Memorial Park, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Hetauda, located approximately 2 kilometers west of the city center. Established in 1994 (2051 B.S.), the park was built to honor the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Nepal's democracy and freedom movements. The memorial features a massive stone sculpture depicting the faces of 13 national martyrs, carved by student volunteers from the Lalit Kala Campus.
Spread across a beautiful green landscape surrounded by sal forests, Shahid Smarak offers visitors a unique blend of history, recreation, and nature. The park includes landscaped gardens, a mini zoo, a children's play area, picnic spots, a swimming pool, and the renowned Madan Batika, dedicated to the late political leader Madan Bhandari. Its peaceful environment, scenic beauty, and historical significance make it one of Hetauda's most visited tourist attractions.
